We are a multi-level troop, predominantly composed of third year Brownies, located in McDonald, Ohio. We started back in September 2007 as a Daisy Girl Scout Troop. We belong to the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio Council which includes 18 counties. We are the last class of Brownie troops that will be a three year Brownie program. We are going to work on as many service projects, try-its, and fun events as the troop decides we can handle. This is where the girls start to learn how to make decisions for the troop. Each girl will learn how to voice her opinion and work in a team environment. This is where the girls become more responsible. We will continue working toward the mission of GSNEO which is to build “girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place” and strive to uphold the Girl Scout Promise. Our troop crest is the bluebird, which signifies happiness and cheerfulness and is very representative of our troop.

This year the girls will continue learning how to work together to take on more responsibility of the troop. The troop leaders will continue moving into more of a facilitator role as the girls learn how to become leaders. They help plan the activities, conduct troop business and ceremonies, and continue using the Kaper Chart. We have implemented a Scout Bucks incentive program, which the girls voted on criteria for earning points. All prizes selected will be Girl Scout items, since we like to again this year put all funds back into our local council.

Each girl has her own folder she is responsible for taking out all newsletters/forms/etc. before leaving from each meeting. Likewise, there will be a leader's folder available for the girls/parents/guardians to drop off forms/notes/etc. We will continue working our Try-Its, Badges, and IP Awards and will start into the Journey Program for Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes.
