SWAPS "Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere are something special in scouting. We are participating in an all-state SWAP this fall where we will be collecting swaps from all 50 states plus DC along with some individual troop-to-troop exchanges . Can't wait!

Our first troop-to-troop SWAP exchange is with multi-level troop of Daisy and Junior scouts located in FL. Troops 10258 and 10575 will be receiving Ohio license plate SWAPS from us. See below for our first SWAP of the year:

.

This fall we will also be participating in a postcard exchange with troops from all over in preparation for World Thinking Day on February 22nd. More to follow. This will also be a new project for us this year.

Last year our troop established correspondence with a troop located in Virginia as as a way for us to expand World Thinking Day beyond our local troop and even our state. Our girls wanted to meet new friends and learn about other locations. We had been working with Troop 4738, from southern Leesburg, Virginia, We completed two very successful exchanges with our friends.

We completed an exchange with Troop 6142 located in northern Leesburg, VA. They are also part of the Girl Scouts Council of the Nation's Capital. Our brownies are very excited about this opportunity. In addition to exchanging swaps we made cards, and friendship bracelets along with sending some Ohio patches. We received some really nice cards, letters, and goodies from Troop 6142.

As 1st graders the brownies completed a "Flat Stanley" project at school, then had the opportunity to present their project to the troop. This year we participated in the "Flat Stacie" project. This was organized by the Girl Scouts of Western New York Council. We workied with Troop 32531 from Brentwood, California, Troop 4311 of Hinckley, Minnesota, and Troop 2496 from Peoria, Arizona! Currently we are in an exchange with a troop located in Germany! We are also very excited about these correspondence opportunities! See our Service page for links to The Review showing us with our Flat Stacies in the news!
