About Us

Our Troop

We are currently a Senior and Ambassador level troop working on service projects. We are located in McDonald, Ohio, and began back in September 2007 as a Daisy Girl Scout Troop. We are in our 13th year as a troop. We belong to the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio Council which includes 18 counties.

We currently have 3 members, all of whom are seniors at McDonald High School, but during the elementary school years had as many as 22 scout members.  Over the years we had worked on as many service projects, badges, and fun events as the troop decided we could handle. The girls learned how to make decisions for the troop. Each girl learned how to voice her opinion and work in a team environment. This is where the girls became more responsible.  Over the past 13 years we have continued working toward the mission of GSNEO which is to build “girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place” and strive to uphold the Girl Scout Promise. Our troop crest is the bluebird, which signifies happiness and cheerfulness and is very representative of our troop.

Our Leaders

Candice is our 13th year troop leader, along with our assistant leader, Lori, who has been with us 10 years. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at gstroop344@hotmail.com

Our Sponsor

Woodland Park United Methodist Church in McDonald has sponsored Girl Scout Troop 344 for the past 13 years with use of the facility for our meetings. We greatly appreciate our sponsor! For additional information, contact WPUMC.

Our Program

Our program has changed over time as the scouts have more responsibilities in high school, and now we are primarily together for the purpose of working service projects.
